Prune Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 (8 oz.) pkg. pitted prunes, chopped
    4 c. water
    2 c. sugar
    3/4 c. lard
    1 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. ground cloves
    4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    2 tsp. baking soda
    3 eggs, beaten
Preparation
    Combine prunes and water in a large bowl; cover and refrigerate overnight.
    Drain prunes, reserving 2 cups liquid. Combine prunes, reserved liquid, sugar, lard, spices and salt in a large saucepan.
    Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, 10 minutes or until lard melts.
    Remove from heat and let cool.
