Ingredients

2 c. raisins
3/4 c. shortening
2 c. light brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
1 c. black liquid coffee
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
Preparation

Add water to raisins; cook 10 minutes.
Drain and cool.
Cream shortening and brown sugar.
Add eggs and beat well.
Add coffee and vanilla.
Sift together and add flour, baking powder, soda and salt.
Flour cooled raisins lightly and add to mixture.
Spread batter on greased cookie sheet with edges.
Bake at 425\u00b0 for 15 to 20 minutes.
Let cool.
Spread with thin icing made with powdered sugar and water.
Cut into squares.
