Fruit Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 sticks margarine
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    3 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 can fruit pie filling (cherry, apple, lemon, blueberry and pineapple)
Preparation
    Cream margarine and sugar.
    Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well.
    Add salt and vanilla.
    Gradually add flour, mix well. Batter will be stiff.
    Pour 3/4 batter in greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan; spread.
    Add pie filling, spread over batter.
    Drop remaining batter by teaspoon on fruit.
    Sprinkle with sugar (optional).
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for about 1 hour.
    Check after 40 minutes.
    Cool and cut into squares.
