Chocolate-Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
2 Tbsp. water
2 (1 oz.) sq. unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. rum flavoring
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. soda
1 c. quick oats
1/2 c. chopped pecans
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar.
Beat in egg.
Blend in chocolate, flavorings and 2 tablespoons water.
Mix flour, soda and 1/2 teaspoon salt; stir into creamed mixture.
Stir in oats and nuts. Form into 1-inch balls.
Place 2-inches apart on greased cookie sheet.
Flatten with sugared bottom of tumbler.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
Yield:
4 dozen.
