Apple Dumplings - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3/4 c. milk
2 c. flour
1/2 c. shortening
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
8 apples
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. hot water
red hots (optional)
Preparation

Mix together the milk, flour, shortening, salt and baking powder.
Roll out on board 1/4-inch thickness.
Slice apples.
Lay on top of dough mixture.
Mix 1 cup sugar (leaving 1 cup for later), nutmeg and cinnamon and spread over apples.
Roll all together and slice off 3/4-inch in thickness.
Place in large pan.
