Crab Apple Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. crab apples
    6 c. sugar
    3 c. water
    4 c .vinegar
    1 stick cinnamon
    1 Tbsp. crushed ginger
    1 Tbsp. whole allspice
    1/2 Tbsp. whole cloves
Preparation
    Wash apples.
    Stick cloves in some apples, being sure some cloves get in jar.
    Heat sugar, liquid and spices until sugar dissolves.
    Cool.
    Add apples and simmer until barely tender. Pack into hot jars.
    Makes 6 to 7 pints.
