Creamed Onions - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. small white onions, peeled
    salt
    3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    2 Tbsp. flour
    dash of pepper
    dash of nutmeg
    1 1/4 c. milk
    2 Tbsp. pkg. dry bread crumbs
Preparation
    In medium saucepan, place onions, 1 teaspoon salt and enough cold water to cover.
    Bring to boiling.
    Reduce heat and simmer, covered, 20 to 25 minutes or until tender.
    Drain onions; reserve 1/2 cup liquid.
