Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 oz. red food coloring
3 Tbsp. instant cocoa
2 1/4 c. flour
1 c. buttermilk
3/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. vinegar
1 tsp. soda
Preparation

Make paste with cocoa and food coloring.
Cream sugar, shortening and eggs.
Blend well.
Add cocoa and food coloring mixture to creamed shortening and egg mixture.
Combine sifted and measured flour and salt.
Add alternately with buttermilk and vanilla to creamed mixture.
If you use electric mixer, remove blades and fold in vinegar and soda.
Pour batter into three equal portions in 8-inch pans, greased and lined.
Bake in 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
