Shredded Yams - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. raw sweet potatoes
    1 gal. water
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. white corn syrup
    1/2 c. water
    1 c. pineapple juice
    4 Tbsp. butter or margarine
Preparation
    Shred yams
    into
    gallon
    of
    water
    with
    salt
    added. Combine sugar,
    syrup
    and\twater in a heavy saucepan and cook until a light syrup forms.\tDrain potatoes, rinse and pat dry. Place in a\t12
    x 6 x 3-inch Pyrex dish.
    Pour pineapple juice over potatoes, then the cooked syrup.
    Dot with butter.
    Bake, uncovered, at

    about\t40 to 50 minutes or until potatoes are translucent.
