Hot Water Corn Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. water
    1 1/2 c. corn meal
    1 tsp. salt
    bacon drippings (for frying)
    1 1/2 c. very hot water
Preparation
    Bring water to a boil in a saucepan. Remove from heat. Add corn meal and salt.
    Mix briskly with a spoon until mixture is smooth and thickened.
    Mixture should be thick enough to hold its shape when dropped from spoon.
    Heat skillet with oil until hot. Spoon a big tablespoonful of corn meal mixture into hot skillet and cook for about 6 to 8 minutes, turning once until bread is brown and crispy.
