Irish Soda Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 c. butter or margarine
2 c. raisins
1 1/3 c. buttermilk
1 egg
1 tsp. baking soda
Preparation

Mix and sift first 4 ingredients.
Cut in butter or margarine until mixture resembles coarse corn meal.
Stir in raisins. Combine remaining ingredients.
Stir into dry mixture until just moistened.
Bake in 1-quart casserole (greased) at 375\u00b0 for 45 to 50 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove from pan and cool on wire rack.
