Chocolate Caramel Treats - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or margarine, softened
    1/3 c. sugar
    1/2 c. light brown sugar
    1 3/4 c. flour
    1 1/2 c. quick oats
    2 c. (12 oz. pkg.) semi-sweet chocolate morsels
    24 caramel candies
    2 Tbsp. milk
Preparation
    In large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugars.
    Gradually beat in flour and oats.
    Stir in chocolate chips; set aside 1 cup. Press remaining mixture into greased and floured 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes or until edges are light brown.
    In small heavy saucepan over low heat, melt caramel candies with milk.
    Drizzle over base.
    Sprinkle with reserved oat mixture. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
    Cool.
    Cut into 2-inch squares.
    Makes about 2 dozen squares.
