Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. quick oats
1 c. boiling water
2 eggs
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. chopped dates
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. each cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and salt
Preparation

Pour water over oats.
Cream shortening and add sugar.
Add eggs, one at a time, then add flour.
Fold in oats with dates and nuts.
Bake at 300\u00b0 for 60 minutes.
