Ingredients

1 1/4 c. sugar
1 c. all-purpose flour
7 Tbsp. Hershey's cocoa
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/3 c. melted margarine or butter
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 c. milk
1 1/4 c. hot water
1/2 c. packed light brown sugar
Preparation

Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
In bowl, combine 3/4 cup sugar, flour, 3 tablespoons cocoa, baking powder and salt.
Blend in milk, melted butter and vanilla; beat until smooth.
Pour batter into square pan 8 x 8 x 2-inch or 9 x 9 x 2-inch.
In smaller bowl, combine remaining 1/2 cup sugar, brown sugar and remaining 4 tablespoons cocoa; sprinkle mixture over batter.
Pour hot water over top; do not stir.
Bake 40 minutes, or until center is almost set.
Let stand 15 minutes; spoon into dessert dishes, spooning sauce from bottom of pan over top.
Makes 8 to 10 servings.
