Polish Cabbage Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small head cabbage, cored and shredded
    1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes, undrained
    2 c. tomato puree
    1 qt. water
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 c. plus 3 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 Tbsp. salt
    2 egg yolks
    1/2 c. sour cream
Preparation
    Combine cabbage, tomatoes, puree, water, butter, juice, sugar and salt
    in
    a
    large
    kettle.
    Cover and simmer for 45 minutes. Beat
    egg
    yolks
    and
    sour
    cream\tin a small bowl. Gradually add 1\tcup
    of
    hot
    soup
    into
    egg mixture.\tStir contents of bowl gradually into soup kettle.
    Remove from heat and stir
    constantly to prevent eggs from curdling.
    Makes 10 to 12 servings.
