Fruit Fantastic - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 (4 serving size) pkg. Jell-O orange gelatin
    1 1/2 c. boiling water
    1 c. ginger ale
    ice cubes
    1 apple, cored and sliced
    1 c. melon balls
    1/2 c. halved seedless grapes
    1 pear, peeled, cored and sliced
    1 c. orange sections
Preparation
    Completely dissolve gelatin in boiling water.
    Combine ginger ale and ice to make 2 cups.
    Add to gelatin; stir until slightly thickened.
    Remove unmelted ice.
    Chill until thickened, about 10 minutes.
    Arrange apple slices in 6-cup bowl.
    Add enough gelatin to just cover apples.
    Repeat layering fruits and gelatin.
    Chill until set, about 1 hour.
    Garnish, if desired.
    Makes 12 servings.
