Ingredients

1/2 lb. butter
1 c. sugar
2 egg yolks
2 c. flour
1/2 c. strawberry or raspberry jam
Preparation

Preheat oven to 325\u00b0.
Grease 8-inch square cake pan.
Cream butter until soft, then gradually add sugar, creaming until light and fluffy.
Add egg yolks; blend well.
Add flour gradually and mix thoroughly.
Spoon one-half of this mixture into the prepared pan.
Smooth surface and spread with jam, then spoon the rest of mixture on top and pat down lightly to cover jam layer.
Bake for 50 minutes.
Makes 12 to 16 bars.
