Ingredients

2 1/2 gal. cider
12 oz. brown sugar
10 Tbsp. whole cloves
few grains cayenne
2 1/2 Tbsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. mace
1 tsp. salt
Preparation

Tie spices loosely in a cheesecloth bag.
Add sugar and spice bag to cider in large kettle.
Bring slowly to a boil.
Cook about 15 minutes, then remove spices.
Serve hot or chilled.
A few slices of orange in punch bowl are very attractive.
