Snickerdoodles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 stick butter or oleo
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    2 3/4 c. flour
    2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 tsp. soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Mix thoroughly the shortening, butter, sugar and eggs.
    Add dry ingredients and stir in.
    Roll dough into balls the size of small walnuts.
    Roll in a mixture of 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon and place 2-inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes until lightly browned, but still soft.
    These puff up at first, then flatten out.
    Yields about 5 dozen.
