Tomato Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 medium sized tomatoes
    4 c. onions
    6 slices American cheese
    1/2 c. bread crumbs
    3 Tbsp. melted butter or margarine
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/2 tsp. basil
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0. Cook onions for 10 minutes in boiling water. Lightly grease casserole. Layer 1/2 tomatoes, 1/2 onions and 1/2 cheese. Repeat. Sprinkle with melted butter, salt, pepper and basil. Cover with bread crumbs. Bake 30 to 35 minutes, uncovered.
