Sauerkraut Apple Relish - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 qt. drained sauerkraut
1 c. apples (more if desired), not peeled
2 c. diced celery
1 large green pepper
1 large red pepper or 1 large jar pimentos, drained
2 c. sugar (less if desired, at least 1 1/2 c.)
1/2 c. red wine vinegar
Preparation

Add sugar and vinegar together to dissolve.
Add apples and sauerkraut.
Add remaining ingredients.
Cover and chill at least 4 hours before serving.
Overnight is best.
Stir a few times. Flavor improves on standing.
Keep refrigerated.
Makes 2 quarts.
