Bread Or Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. hot water
    1 can evaporated milk
    1 Tbsp. (scant) salt
    3 heaping Tbsp. sugar
    2 yeast cakes
    1/2 c. melted shortening
    flour
Preparation
    Mix first four ingredients and cool to lukewarm.
    Add yeast; mix in enough flour to make sponge (a good sponge is about like cake batter, only a little stiffer), then add and whip in good, the melted shortening.
    Let rise, then add more flour as you knead into a good soft bread dough.
    Let rise twice more and then mold into rolls and bake.
