Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. raisins
    1/2 c. boiling water
    1 stick butter
    1 1/2 c. brown sugar
    2 eggs
    1 1/2 c. thick applesauce
    3/4 c. walnuts
    2 1/2 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1/2 tsp. allspice
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0. Grease and flour 13 x 9 x 2 baking pan. In small bowl, combine raisins and water. In large bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat eggs and blend thoroughly. Add applesauce. Add flour and all dry ingredients to small bowl and mix. Add dry ingredients to egg mixture. Blend in raisins and water. Stir in nuts. Pour into baking dish. Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
