Ingredients

3 red onions, sliced
1/2 c. margarine
1/3 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
10 beef bouillon cubes
8 c. boiling water
1/3 c. Worcestershire sauce
1 loaf French bread, sliced
10 slices Provolone cheese
Preparation

Saute onions in margarine in soup pot until translucent and light brown.
Sprinkle with flour; mix well.
Season with salt and pepper.
Dissolve bouillon in water.
Pour over onion mixture. Add Worcestershire sauce.
Let stand for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Ladle into ovenproof soup mugs.
Top each with 1 slice of bread; turn to soak both sides.
Place 1 slice of cheese over bread.
Bake at 450\u00b0 for 12 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Yield:
8 servings.
