Creamy Pralines - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 stick margarine
3 1/2 c. sugar
1 can evaporated milk
1 qt. pecan halves
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. baking soda
4 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation

Boil first 4 ingredients in a 4-quart heavy gauge aluminum pot. While this is boiling, burn 4 tablespoons sugar on the side in a Teflon pot until dark brown.
Remove from heat.
When cooled enough, add about a cupful of the candy mixture.
Stir until well mixed to keep from caramelizing, then pour back into mixture.
When soft ball forms when added to cold water, remove from heat and add a pinch of soda and vanilla.
Beat until it's ready to drop on slightly greased cookie sheet.
