Devil'S Food Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 oz unsweetened baking chocolate
1 c boiling water
2 1/2 c cake flour (regular flour works well)
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 stick margarine or butter
2 c sugar
3 eggs, separated
1 c sour cream
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/4 tsp baking soda
1 tsp red food coloring
Preparation

Melt chocolate in water, let cool.
Sift flour and salt together; set aside.
Cream butter.
Add 1 1/2 cups of the sugar and continue creaming until light and fluffy.
Beat in egg yolks. Blend in dry ingredients alternating with sour cream and vanilla. Dissolve soda in chocolate; stir chocolate mixture and coloring into batter.
Beat egg whites until foamy.
Gradually add remaining 1/2 cup sugar and continue beating until soft peaks form; fold into batter.
Pour into 2 - 8 inch round pans (lined with wax paper).
Bake at 350 for 40-45 minutes.
Frost with White Icing Recipe (do add the peanut butter).
