Pink Taffy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 cup sugar
    2 tablespoons cornstarch
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    3/4 cup light corn sirup
    1/2 cup water
    2 tablespoons butter or margarine
    2 teaspoons vanilla
    Red food coloring
Preparation
    In medium sized heavy saucepan stir together sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Add corn sirup, water, and butter. Mix well. Over moderate heat bring to boil, stirring constantly until sugar dissolves.
