Potato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 potatoes, diced
    1/2 small onion, diced
    1/2 lb. butter
    1/2 pt. half and half
    1 lb. bacon, cooked
    4 oz. shredded Cheddar cheese (may add more if desired)
    garlic salt
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Cook potatoes and drain (do not overcook, usually 5 minutes). Take 1/2 amount and mash with half and half, butter and garlic salt, lightly covering top.
    Add all together with cheese and bacon (should be cooked and crumbed).
    If a little dry, use regular milk until the consistency you want.
    Simmer until hot, do not boil.
