Shrimp And Fried Okra - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. deveined shrimp (medium or small)
3 c. cut up okra
2 pieces slab cut bacon
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. sugar
1 medium chopped onion
1 c. vegetable oil
Preparation

Wash okra;
pat
dry and cut in 1/2-inch circles.
Wash deveined shrimp; pat
dry.\tSeason\tsparingly
with
salt
and pepper.
Fry bacon\tstrips.
Saute\tonion
and shrimp in bacon drippings.\tMeanwhile heat\tin
skillet
1\tcup vegetable oil. Pour two cups okra in heated oil.
Stir constantly making sure okra browns gently,
not
burn.
Drain all oil off fried okra. Mix shrimp and\tonions\tin
with
drained okra in the skillet. Mix other okra with sugar and lightly add bacon pieces on top. Add 2 tablespoons water and cover.
Can be served with rice.
