Beef And Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (3 to 4 lb.) beef roast
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 lb. can tomatoes
    1/4 c. vinegar
    1/4 c. water
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1/2 tsp. pickling mix
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 tube biscuits (10)
Preparation
    In Dutch oven, slowly brown meat.
    Add remaining ingredients, except biscuits.
    Cover and cook slowly for 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
