Brown Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. water
    1 c. large seeded raisins
    1 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. baking soda
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 egg, beaten
    1/2 c. nuts, chopped
    2 3/4 c. flour
    1 c. sugar
Preparation
    Boil raisins in water; let cool.
    Mix other ingredients; add raisins and one cup of raisin liquid.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour in 4 (No. 2) cans.
