Spiced Green Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 lb. tomatoes (small green), or large, if sliced medium thick
    6 c. sugar
    2 c. vinegar
    1 Tbsp. cinnamon
    1 Tbsp. whole cloves
    1 Tbsp. whole allspice
    1 Tbsp. white mustard seed
Preparation
    Wash tomatoes, but do not peel.
    If small tomatoes are used, prick them slightly.
    Combine sugar, vinegar and spices.
    Bring mixture to a boil.
    Pour mixture over tomatoes.
    Let stand 6 hours or overnight.
    Drain and cook fluid until it coats a spoon.
    Add tomatoes and cook until clear.
    Put into canning jars and seal. This can also be done with plums, pears or peaches.
