Orange Jello Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large pkg. orange jello
    1/3 c. sugar
    1 large can pineapple, crushed
    2 c. cold water
    1 c. pecans, finely chopped
    1 c. grated Cheddar cheese (mild or sharp)
    1 (8 oz.) container Cool Whip
Preparation
    Combine pineapple and sugar; bring to a boil.
    Remove.
    Add jello; dissolve, then add 2 cups cold water.
    Put in refrigerator; let set (barely jell).
    Take out.
    Add Cool Whip, nuts and cheese. Pour into dish; let set until jello sets.
