Country Supper Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. bacon
    2 cans onion soup
    1 c. celery, chopped
    1 c. carrots, chopped
    1/2 lb. diced zucchini
    1 bay leaf
    9 c. water
    1 can tomatoes or 1 large can tomato juice
    1 c. potatoes, diced
    1 clove garlic
    pinch of thyme, marjoram and basil
    1 c. broken spaghetti noodles
    parsley flakes
    2 cans lima beans (undrained)
    1/4 c. Parmesan cheese
Preparation
    Cut bacon in small pieces.
    Place all main ingredients (first 11 ingredients) together in a large soup kettle and simmer for 1/2 hour.
    Add remaining ingredients and continue simmering for another 1/2 hour.
    Serve with garlic bread.
