Cherry Cola Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 oz. cherry gelatin
    1 can pie filling (including juice)
    1 (No. 2) can crushed pineapple
    6 1/2 oz. bottle cola beverage
    1/2 c. water
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Combine water, sugar and cherries.
    Boil gently 5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in gelatin until dissolved.
    Add pineapple (do not drain), nuts and cola.
    Place into mold and chill.
    (I think it's better the second day.)
