Black Walnut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs, separated
    3 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. sweet milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 lb. black walnuts, ground
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
    Add egg yolks.
    Beat well.
    Sift flour and baking powder together.
    Add alternately with milk and vanilla.
    Beat thoroughly after each addition.
    Beat egg whites until stiff.
    Fold nuts in batter, then egg whites. Pour into a greased tube pan.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 50 to 60 minutes.
