Orange Refrigerator Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. butter
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1 egg, beaten
1 Tbsp. grated orange rind
3 Tbsp. orange juice or 1/4 tsp. orange extract
2 3/4 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. soda

Preparation

Cream the butter and sugar together.
Add the egg and the orange rind and juice or extract.
Beat vigorously.
Then add the dry ingredients, sifted together.
Shape into two rolls and cover with wax paper.
Chill thoroughly.
Slice one-fourth-inch thick. Bake in a hot oven, 400\u00b0, for about ten minutes.
Makes about thirty cookies.
