Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. hot water
    1 c. quick cooking oatmeal
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 c. white sugar
    2 eggs (save 1 white for frosting)
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    2/3 c. chopped nuts
    1 c. coconut
    1/2 c. raisins (optional)
Preparation
    Pour water over oatmeal, cool 20 minutes.
    Cream shortening and sugars.
    Add eggs; mix.
    Sift flour, soda, salt and cinnamon.
    Add to creamed mixture.
    Add cooled oatmeal.
    Add nuts, coconut and raisins.
    Pour into greased and floured oblong baking pan (13 x 9-inch).
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
