Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 1/2 c. cornmeal
1/2 c. flour, sifted
1 Tbsp. sugar
2 Tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 small onion, chopped
1 egg
3/4 c. milk

Preparation

Sift the dry ingredients together.
Add onion.
Combine egg and milk and add to dry ingredients.
Stir lightly.
Drop a teaspoon of batter for each hush puppy into hot deep grease (360\u00b0).
Makes 2 dozen.
