Caramel Apple Nut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    2 eggs
    2 1/2 c. sifted self-rising flour
    1 c. milk
    3 c. chopped apples
    1 c. pecans or walnuts
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 300\u00b0.
    Grease 13 x 9-inch pan.
    Cream shortening, sugar and vanilla.
    Add eggs, 1 at a time; beat well after each egg.
    Add flour and milk a little at a time.
    Cream together; beat until blended.
    Stir in apple nuts.
    Bake 1 hour and 10 minutes.
