Mama'S Old-Fashioned Tea Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 eggs
    2 c. sugar
    4 Tbsp. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. shortening
    4 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    sugar for sprinkling
Preparation
    Mix together first 5 ingredients.
    Sift flour, baking powder, soda and salt together and add to liquid mixture.
    (Add more flour, if needed.)
    Refrigerate 30 minutes for easier handling.
    Roll out on a lightly floured surface.
    Cut out and space 2-inch apart on greased cookie sheet.
    Sprinkle with sugar.
    Bake 400\u00b0 until lightly colored for soft, chewy tea cake.
    Makes 4 or 5 dozen.
