Whole Wheat Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. whole wheat flour
    1 c. all-purpose flour
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. shortening (Crisco solid)
    3/4 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Combine first 5 ingredients, mixing well.
    Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse meal.
    Add buttermilk; stir until moistened.
    Turn dough onto a floured surface; knead lightly 4 to 5 times.
    Roll dough to 1/2-inch; cut with 2 3/4-inch biscuit cutter.
    Place on ungreased baking sheet.
    Bake at 450\u00b0 for 10 minutes or until browned.
    Yield:
    One dozen.
