Eggless Cake From Canada - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. brown sugar
1/3 c. shortening
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. water
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. raisins (optional)

Preparation

Put together all ingredients except flour, baking powder and baking soda in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
Boil 3 minutes. Let cool.
Add dry ingredients.
Mix well.
Put into glass loaf pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes to one hour.
