Cherry Coconut Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 egg
    1/2 c. nuts
    1/2 c. coconut
    divided flour
Preparation
    Cream butter and 1/4 cup sugar until light; stir in 1/2 cup flour.
    Put into greased 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
    Meanwhile, mix remaining 1/2 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, salt, vanilla, eggs, nuts and coconut.
    Spread evenly over baked dough.
    Bake 25 minutes.
    Cut while warm.
