Southern Corn Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 egg, beaten
1 1/4 c. buttermilk or sour milk
3 Tbsp. oil
3/4 c. corn meal (yellow)
1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Preparation

Combine first 3 ingredients; mix well.
Combine next 6 ingredients; mix well.
Combine all ingredients; mix well. Mixture will be thin.
Cook on hot grill until brown on each side.
