Apple Dumplings - cooking recipe

1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. water
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
6 to 10 drops red food coloring
3 Tbsp. butter
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2/3 c. shortening
1/2 c. milk
Preparation
-
Boil sugar, water, cinnamon, nutmeg and food coloring.
Take off stove; add butter.
Put in other pan, flour, baking powder and salt.
Add and mix shortening.
Add and mix in milk.
Roll out and cut out and put apples in dough and put the sauce on them.
Bake at 350\u00b0 until golden brown.
