Sweetheart Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. shortening
    1/2 c. sugar
    tart jelly or jam
    1 egg yolk
    1/2 c. flour
    1/3 c. nuts (if desired)
Preparation
    Cream shortening, sugar and egg yolk.
    Add flour and knead. Form dough into tiny balls and place on baking sheet.
    Make a depression in center of each and fill with jam or any desired tidbit.
    Bake in 350\u00b0 oven until lightly browned.
    Makes 60 cookies.
