Original Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. butter
    1 lb. 10x sugar
    4 eggs
    3/4 c. flour
    3/4 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. milk
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. mace
Preparation
    Cream the butter and sugar.
    Add eggs separately; beat well. Sift the flour, baking powder and salt.
    Add milk, vanilla and mace.
    Combine all ingredients.
    Pour into a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan.
    Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for 40 to 50 minutes. Frost with butter icing.
