English Pea Casserole - cooking recipe

1/2 stick margarine or butter
3 Tbsp. flour
1/2 pt. whipping cream
1 (10 oz.) can small English peas
1 (2 oz.) jar pimentos
1 egg, boiled and chopped
2 to 4 oz. shredded American cheese
Preparation

In saucepan, melt margarine or butter on low heat.
Add flour; stir until smooth.
Pour in whipping cream, stirring continuously until it thickens; set aside.
In 1 1/2-quart casserole dish, lightly stir peas, pimento and egg while adding cream mixture. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 minutes.
Remove; top with cheese; return back to oven for 10 minutes.
Prep time:
30 minutes.
