Beef And Broccoli - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. beef round steak, cut in 1-inch cubes
    1 small clove garlic, minced
    2 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. cooking oil
    2 to 4 Tbsp. sake, sherry or gin
    2 Tbsp. soy sauce
    1 1/2 lb. (8 c.) chopped broccoli
    3/4 c. water
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/2 c. cold water
    hot cooked rice
Preparation
    Stir-fry beef, garlic, sugar and salt in hot oil.
    Stir in sake and soy sauce; cook, covered, 2 to 3 minutes.
    Remove meat and set aside.
    Add broccoli and 3/4 cup water to skillet (or wok).
    Bring to boiling; stir and then cook, covered, 2 to 5 minutes more.
    Add meat.
    Combine cornstarch and 1/2 cup cold water.
    Pour into center of mixture.
    Cook and stir 2 to 3 minutes or until thick and bubbly.
    Serve with hot cooked rice.
    Serves 4.
